The irony of the title of this song cracks me up. You hear "I will love you forever" or "We'll be friends, forever" and then that 'forever' part, just doesn't happen. This song was a favorite between me and one of my closest friends (we had many dances to this, as well as singing and harmonizing with this song), before she drifted away and vanished. Not a trace of her, phone disconnected, Facebook deleted, email address deactivated. Nothing. It's sad to think that sometimes friendships, especially ones so close, can take a turn and end like that. And we never ended on a bad note, life just happens I guess.
Friendships can be as short as a week, a month, or a year, but can go on a lifetime, no matter what, those people were in your life for a reason. Which is true, I learned a lot from this one.
I hope there will be several friendships that will last me a lifetime, for those are the ones I think matter most.
